A rather interesting story involving the bride and me. Initially, we found each other on Thumbtack, a platform where you can find photographers for any type and size of photoshoots. When I first got connected with Barbara, I felt the instant warmth through her messages on the platform. Then we scheduled a time and hop on a call to talk about her upcoming wedding with Jesse, where she told me her wedding photo vision, her wants and needs from a photographer to capture their special day together. At the time of our conversation, I hadn’t done a wedding, and I felt that she had a great idea of how she wants it to be, which is always helpful to a photographer. Per usual process, I provided her with a general idea of how I work with my clients and the type of deliverables she will be getting from the wedding package I had in mind.
A week later, when I was about to follow up, she texted me saying “I know your in-laws.” I was confused at first, and wondered if she could be a scam or even a stalker! Turns out, she is the childhood neighbor of my husband from across the street! What a small world. The parents still live across from each other, and had spoken earlier in the afternoon about Barbara’s wedding. My mother-in-law was recommending me and my photography service to Barbara’s mother. At dinner, they found out Barbara had a photographer in mind already, and it happens to be the same person – me! And the rest is history.
I am so excited, happy, and grateful for this very opportunity to shoot for Jesse and Barbara. Since the wedding is just a couple of months away, I wanted to get to know the couple a little bit more, so I decided to schedule a mini engagement session for them as part of the package. The engagement session took place at Mile Square Park in Orange County, California, an hour and a half before sunset, allowing the perfect golden sunlight to beam through the trees. Their genuine and sweet smiles blended in perfectly with the surrounding natural scenery.
