Josh had reached out to me a week before his proposal date, which presented a really tight timeline for us to plan for this life changing event in his and Monique’s dating journey. With some efficient planning in place, the shoot went on smoothly.
The cover story of this surprise proposal was that the two of them would head out to their favorite dating spot for a mini picnic, and once they were done with their salad (my cue to get in position), he would then get down on one knee and do his thing. 🙂
Originally, it would have been easier to meet up with Josh at the park and have a quick rundown on how the shoot would go, but with COVID-19 happening hard and heavy, and with the tight schedule, it was best for me to provide directions for him to follow to make sure our day runs as planned.
As a photographer for this particular shoot, it was critical that I find a place that would give me great vantage points and hiding spots. The park has a large open field, and only a few trees on the outskirts of the park. In order to be able to zoom in to grab those tighter shots, especially when my lens options can be a limiting factor, I had chosen a tree that was rather close to where they would potentially sit.
