I had the honor to witness a baby baptism behind my camera, capturing the hourlong ceremony and a small family session for the Rodriguez family. The baptism took place at Our Lady Of Ángels Cathedral in Los Angeles, which is a prominent Catholic church situated on Temple and Grand street.
While I was hoping to shoot inside the Cathedral, it turned out to be held at an outdoor, shaded area with 3 other families. Due to COVID-19, all participants are required to wear masks, which was a little challenging for the family, as we all want pictures taken maskless. Making sure we don’t violate any protocols, and staying courteous to the church rules was my number one priority being the only photographer at this ceremony. With all things considered, the session went well, with light being perfect under this giant Willow tree.
It was a very special day for the family, and I definitely captured one touching collection of photos to go through and retouch. I feel so honored to have the opportunity to capture these memories for the Rodriguez family to look back at in the future.
