This is a rather overdue journal post on our lovely Shadow’s birthday, which happened a few months back in October of 2021. Let me give you little background story here, our Shadow girl is a rescue from the SPCALA Long Beach shelter since October of 2019 – yes, she joined our little family right before the global pandemic, which was a real blessing to have her around us during the difficult year. Since we are unsure when her exact birthday is, we decided to use her adoption month as her birth month, celebrating a new beginning with us!
Fast forward to 2022, she is approximately 11 years old, and we have learned SO MUCH about her. Here are a few phone snaps of her posing and flipping like a different animal.
We’ve caught her posing like a sea lion…
A seahorse…
A koala bear…
Over time, we’ve learned what she enjoys eating the most. As dog parents, we like to spoil our girl with treats here and there, it’s hard to resist her cute face when she begs for yummies from us. For her birthday, we have put together 3 of her favorite treats in a cookie-cake-wich! It consists of peanut butter cookies (dog grade), puppaccino (whipped cream), and bacon (uncured).
Here’s a recipe we’ve tried. If you are interested in giving it a try, let us know how it turns out! We hope your little pup will enjoy it as much as Shadow. Curious to see how Shadow chomped down her special cookie-cake-wich? There’s a video towards the end of this post!
