The Johnson family was one of the nicest family to photograph! They completely trusted our professionalism and took in our posing prompts fluidly without much friction, which is not always the easiest to achieve. Mom definitely knows her angle well, although, I like to think that most of our clients, who are generally comfortable in their own skin, adapt to our prompts gracefully, sometimes in their very own version of posing, which is appreciated at an outdoor photoshoot as we are constantly chasing the best sunlight and surrounding environmental conditions within the session time.
The Johnson family had their first session with us the last few weeks before their delivery. The Maternity session was taken place on a really windy afternoon at the Golden Hour on Manhattan Beach. The heavy wind blended in as a great advantage towards the vibe and outfit the parents were looking for.
Fast forward to a couple months later, I finally got the pleasure to meet the baby boy and work with him on some in-home Newborn portraits. This little guy was at 3 weeks old, but still very much asleep for most of the time during the session. He was super calm and peaceful the entire time of the solo newborn photos, which I was really pleased to work with.
As I began to shift the little guy around to photograph with Mom alone, then with Dad alone, he was slowly waking up, which was the cutest thing and super normal during our in-home newborn photoshoot.
The baby waking up led into a feeding session, which was the most authentic opportunity to capture those lifestyle shots of the newborn parents doing what all newborn parents do. Watching Charlene and Brenden enjoying the moment and learning to best handle little B was so heartwarming and just all so natural and beautiful to document in their collection of photos. Thank you for having me to document these new milestones for the Johnson family!
