2021 marks a great year for many of us – after a year of lock down and working from home, we all were looking forward to getting out there, breathing in the fresh air, and getting back to normalcy again. Although it was hot, our family had a great time being out again at one of our favorite pop-up events at Jackalope Art Fair for my product brand Sutai Bu – Yes, I also paint!

At Jackalope, we were lucky to be positioned right by the open field area, where families sat to enjoy live music and food trucks. Having great live music at events like this makes the whole experience enjoyable, if we could have misty cooling stations that would be even better for such a hot weekend, but with the nice tall trees at Central Park Pasadena, which provided great shades, I shouldn’t complain.

At these types of events, it is always nice go around to meet other vendors, and snap a few pictures of all the great work the artists are putting out. We had the pleasure to meet Ricky England, one of the live musicians at the event, who came by our booth after his performance.

Music is actually my passion as well. I grew up singing in choir and playing musical instruments, so having the opportunity to chat with a musician like Ricky made me feel close and connected to music again. Ricky and his fiancee, Ellie, were so easy to talk to, a great couple with great smiles. I’ve always wanted to capture music performances, and am happy to have the opportunity to capture Ricky in action among families and little kids enjoying themselves with the shakers he had provided, which is a brilliant way to get the audience moving and participating!
