If you’re planning a Filipino debut in Los Angeles, the hardest part usually isn’t the venue or the gown — it’s the program. Debuts run on a structure most first-time families have never built before, and almost every meaningful moment happens exactly once.

We photographed a handful of debutes, and here’s an example we will talk about in this blog so you can have a reference point to plan yours. Lauren’s debut took place at the Torrance Marriott Redondo Beach. What follows is the full run of show from that night, what a debut actually costs in Southern California, and what we’d tell any family planning their first one.

We don’t come from a Filipino background ourselves. Being trusted to document these traditions is something we take seriously, and a lot of what’s below came from our experience working with Filipino families on their daughter’s debute.
