Yes — and we recommend it. Booking both together allows us to document a continuous chapter of your story, from your pregnancy glow to your baby’s first days. We offer a discount when booking maternity and newborn sessions together. Ask us about our bundled packages when you reach out.
The ideal time to schedule your maternity session is between 28–34 weeks of pregnancy, when your belly is beautifully round and you’re still feeling comfortable and mobile. We recommend reaching out to book your session around 20 weeks to ensure your preferred dates are available, especially on weekends.
Book your newborn session during your second trimester — don’t wait until after birth. Newborn sessions are ideally scheduled within the first 5–14 days after birth to capture those sleepy, curled-up poses. We hold a flexible tentative date during your pregnancy and confirm once baby arrives. We can also accommodate older newborns (2–6 weeks) for more awake, interactive portraits.
Newborn sessions require significantly more time, patience, and care than standard portrait sessions. We follow a baby-led pace — allowing for feeding breaks, diaper changes, soothing time, and safe, gentle posing. Sessions typically run 2–3 hours to ensure baby is comfortable and we capture a full variety of poses and family combinations. The care involved in posing a newborn safely is a specialized skill that takes years to develop.
Maternity sessions are most beautiful outdoors — at the beach, in a park, or at a scenic location in Los Angeles or Orange County. We can also shoot at your home or in a rented studio. Newborn sessions are almost always done in your home for the coziest, most natural environment — we bring all necessary props, wraps, and backdrops. Hospital Fresh 48 sessions take place at your delivery hospital — contact us to confirm we service your hospital.
We provide detailed outfit guidance after booking, including style recommendations and a curated list of dress rental options. In general, flowing maxi dresses, form-fitting wraps, and solid or soft-patterned fabrics photograph beautifully. We also offer hair and makeup artist recommendations if you’d like professional glam for your session.
Yes — Fresh 48 sessions are one of our most treasured services. We document the first 24–48 hours of your baby’s life at the hospital: the tiny fingers, the first feeds, the exhausted joy of new parents, and the wonder of siblings meeting their baby for the first time. We work at Torrance Memorial, Little Company of Mary, Providence Saint John’s, and other hospitals throughout Los Angeles and Orange County. Contact us to confirm your delivery hospital.
Yes — we have experience photographing cultural milestone celebrations including Korean Doljabi (돌잡이) first birthday ceremonies and Chinese 100 Days (百日宴) sessions, and we approach each with care and respect for its significance. If you have a specific cultural celebration you’d like documented, reach out and we’ll discuss how to best honor your traditions through photography.
For maternity sessions, we recommend booking by 20 weeks to secure your preferred timing window. For newborn sessions, book during your second trimester — ideally around 20–24 weeks. We hold a tentative newborn date and confirm once baby arrives. Popular spring and fall dates fill quickly, so earlier is always better.
You’ll receive a sneak peek of a few favorite images within a few days of your session. Your full, professionally edited gallery is delivered within 2 weeks. We know new parents are eager to share — we make it a priority to turn galleries around quickly without sacrificing quality.

"My husband and I realized we didn't have a single decent photo with our 9 month old, so we reached out to Stephanie for a session (thank you Yelp for the rec). We are so glad we did! First off, the process of booking a session with Stephanie was so easy. I booked a slot on Stephanie's website, and Stephanie reached out immediately to schedule a phone call to learn more about what type of photos we were looking for and to help us determine a location for our shoot. She had numerous photos of each location in the South Bay she frequently shoots at, which made figuring out where we'd want to shoot and determining the type of photos we wanted so easy. All we were hoping for was 1 frameable photo with our baby, but in a 30 minute session with Stephanie, we came out with dozens of great family photos, where even our baby is smiling and looking at the camera.
