We’re Stephanie and Bryan— a husband-and-wife duo who believe that life’s most meaningful moments deserve to be captured and cherished. Together, we bring a dynamic blend of creativity, precision, and teamwork to every session.

Some love stories feel meant to return to the water. This Manhattan Beach surprise proposal — set at a Lifeguard Tower during golden hour — was one of those moments where past and present quietly aligned. What began years ago on the shores of Michigan as two young lifeguards grew into an eight-year partnership, now celebrated with a heartfelt “yes” by the ocean they call home.

Their Love Story

Zach and Emma first met as lifeguards in Michigan before college, bonded early by long shifts, sunburned afternoons, and a shared rhythm of responsibility and trust. Over the years, their relationship grew steadily — through college, life transitions, and eventually moving in together in 2021.

About a year and a half ago, they took a leap together and moved to Santa Monica, trading freshwater beaches for the Pacific. Southern California became home, and Manhattan Beach quickly became one of their favorite places to walk, unwind, and feel grounded — a familiar shoreline woven into their everyday life.

Planning the Proposal

While they chose the ring together, Zach wanted the proposal itself to be a surprise — something personal, meaningful, and reflective of their journey. After weeks of planning (and navigating a few weather setbacks), everything finally came together on a clear evening by the water.

As they walked near their favorite stretch of beach, Zach paused by the lifeguard tower — a quiet nod to where their story began — and asked the question. Emma said yes instantly, glowing with surprise as the sky turned golden behind them. Nearby beachgoers looked on, unknowingly witnessing a moment eight years in the making.

Post-Proposal Portraits

After the excitement settled, we captured relaxed, candid portraits around Manhattan Beach — from the lifeguard tower to the shoreline and under the pier. Barefoot walks, spontaneous spins, laughter, and quiet embraces filled the session. Nothing felt rushed or overly staged — just two people deeply at ease, celebrating the next chapter of a life they’ve already built together.

Why Manhattan Beach Was the Perfect Choice

For couples who want a proposal that feels elevated but personal, Manhattan Beach offers the best of both worlds. Iconic lifeguard towers, soft sand, and consistent sunset light make it visually stunning — but it’s the emotional familiarity that truly makes it special. For Zach and Emma, this wasn’t just a beautiful backdrop; it was a place that already felt like home.
