A Romantic Malibu Wedding Rooted in Meaning
Some wedding days feel energetic and celebratory. Others feel grounded, intentional, and deeply personal. Marcia and Brenden’s wedding was the latter.
After photographing their engagement session, Marcia shared how important it was for them to feel comfortable and fully present with their photographer on the wedding day. That trust carried through every part of their celebration — from a heartfelt church ceremony in Malibu to an intimate, joy-filled reception at Calamigos Ranch.
Their day wasn’t about excess or spectacle. It was about family, faith, music, and creating a space where love could be felt — not rushed.

Getting Ready at Airbnb Home in Malibu (12pm)

On a February Saturday in Southern California, the sun was playing hide and seek with us. We started at the first location where the Bride, Marcia, got ready with the girls in an Ocean front Airbnb rental right off of PCH in Malibu.
Ceremony at Our Lady of Malibu Catholic Church (2pm)

Live violin and piano music began to flow through the front door of the church, welcoming guests as they arrived. Wedding bells rang, the Bride arrived. She marched in with her youngest son, and walked down the isle to meet her husband, Brenden.
Just Married Portrait at Calamigos Ranch in Malibu (5pm)

A couple hours later, with rested minds and refreshments, we arrived at beautiful Calamigos Ranch in Malibu to celebrate with extended family and friends. As the guests arrive and enjoyed themselves at the cocktail hour, we caught the last bit of sunlight at Golden Hour for some sweet heart portraits.

Birch Wood Room
With 3 Little Birds Event Planning, and coordination with the venue, the details tied in together beautifully at the Birch Wood Room. The room had an indoor and outdoor setting, which was perfect for the February weather. The string lights over the birchwood trees over white table linen and table settings on a hardwood deck, created a fairytale like atmosphere for the evening.
The evening party came with a sweet surprise organized by the bride to her groom, a live performance by Brenden’s favorite band, War. Alongside lively dueling pianos performance by Felix and Pianos, the dance floor turned into a private concert. It was filled with endless jazz, dances and just pure joy to end the evening.
