For Josephine and Anthony, who traveled in from out of state, this long stretch of coastline became the backdrop for a day they’ll never forget. With a romantic picnic, more than 50 roses, and the sound of waves in the background, Anthony’s months of planning came together in a heartfelt proposal.
Behind the Scenes: Planning from Afar
Anthony began planning this surprise proposal over two months in advance. Originally, Catalina Island was on the table, but with travel logistics and higher costs, Newport Beach became the perfect alternative. From choosing where to stay, to asking for local recommendations, Anthony was intentional about creating a stress-free experience that felt both beautiful and meaningful.
The Big Moment
As they walked toward the picnic setup filled with macaroons, tea, and fresh fruit, Josephine had no idea what was about to happen. Nervous laughter, playful banter, and even nervous snacking gave way to tears of joy when Anthony got down on one knee. Josephine even drew “Will you marry me?” in the sand earlier that day—without realizing how soon it would become reality.

The setup was personalized to reflect their personalities—elegant but approachable. From pastel macarons to blueberries and tea, to a stunning half-moon proposal ring with rose petal and over 50 roses, the details created a whimsical, intimate atmosphere. It wasn’t just about the proposal, but about creating a space where they could savor the moment together.
