It’s going to be a boy!

A budding family with two dogs – Cody and Porter, came over to Southern California for a mini vacation, away from their hometown – Arizona. To celebrate love and the new life they have created and on his way to the world, they had reached out for a maternity session at the beautiful Huntington Beach Dog Beach.

On this particular Summer day, although it was slightly overcast, the golden light from the hour before sunset casted onto the water, forming a warm tone in the backdrop. There were parts on the beach, where the land is relatively flat, welcoming the water to roll further inland, projecting beautiful reflections from the subject. This type of look is generally achieved during low waves, but I believe the landscapes play an important role as well.

The couple’s fur babies were especially excited to be visiting this popular dog beach, as dog beaches are not something they have easy access in their hometown. The Boston Terrier, Porter, was on leash even the whole time it was at the beach, as he loves to drift off on his own and wander out when unattended, what an independent dog with its own mindset!

Due to COVID, the couple have yet to break the news to their friends and family, which this session was intended to incorporate in their announcement when they return home. Congratulations to this lovely couple, and wishing all the best to their growing family!
