August is a popular month for birthdays in my family – 3 generations of birthdays with my Grandma, Dad, and Nephew, who is turning 2! The little one always gets the spotlight, and those are the precious memories parents and grandparents would typically want to keep in their photobook. As a family photographer, I took my family out for a short session at Mile Square Park in Fountain Valley in Orange County, California. If you haven’t already guessed, the park stretches an entire mile in a square city block, and it has a lot of activities to offer. To name a few, it has a botanical garden, golf course, bike rentals and trails, picnic areas, paddle boat rentals, and even an archery range! Dogs are welcome as long as they are on leashes. If you are looking for an open space to have a birthday party with friends and family, this is the kind of park packed with lots of tall trees, green grassy fields, and a few landscapes that are perfect for photos. This is a location that’s outside of our neighborhood, so for this particular day, we came out to Fountain Valley for seafood lunch at

Tan Cang Newport Seafood

and a photo session with a few balloons bought from Party City (which by the way was my first time really purchasing anything from Party City) and I am truly amazed by the different variety of balloons and party supplies it has to offer!

If you haven’t been to Fountain Valley, it is a town filled with delicious Vietnamese food, and to name a few of my favorites:

I definitely recommend this town if you are looking to try something different.
