Senior Photos at El Matador State Beach | Ella B.

This Summer, I had the pleasure working with Ella on her Senior portraits at El Matador State Beach in Malibu, Los Angeles, California. This is by far one of the most popular and beautiful beaches I’ve shot at. It is certainly great for all types of portraits, with the landscape and unique stone formations providing a very different look you wouldn’t expect from a typical Southern California Beach. 

Ella and I took an hour to shoot with 4 different outfits, which gave her session a variety of shots. The landing of the shoreline is rather narrow, which makes changing into different outfits easier, however, it’s always nice to have an additional person to help get you in and out of the different looks. For her, she brought along her Mom, who was really nice and helpful in getting Ella in and out quickly within minutes, wasting no time!  

Many of us can be camera shy at first, especially for these types of portraits. But I am impressed by how quickly Ella warmed up to me and my camera. As a team, we created a ton of great photos for her to pick and choose from. I’ve also learned that she is a talented student athlete who will be starting her exciting journey on the volleyball team at Princeton University! This explained why she was quick to pick up new camera posing cues from me, and being so prepared for her shoot! 

I am really grateful to have the opportunity to shoot for her at this stage of her life. Wishing you best of luck, girl!
