Charlene’s 60th Birthday

A 60th Birthday marks a great milestone in any walk of life. It is the age one would look back and evaluate how much one has accomplished thus far, and what remains to achieve in the coming years. Although I am not yet at that age, far from it actually, my parents have passed that age, and I’ve shot 90th birthday celebrations, so I have a great idea of its significance.

This night, I was invited to capture beautiful memories for Pastor Charlene at this exclusive event hosted by the members of her church based in Long Beach, California. The theme of the event was Diamonds and Pearls, an All White event, which took place at the Courtyard by Marriott Cypress Anaheim in Orange County. Everyone came in their best white outfits, amazing hairdos and glowing makeup. Although they were all dressed up, they were not afraid to bend down a little to decorate the venue with lots of blinking white, silver and black themed decor – ranging from centerpieces, a photo backdrop, balloons at the entrance, and a table with gifts and souvenirs for everyone to take home. 

The enthusiasm from the group in welcoming Pastor Charlene’s grand entrance was filled with excitement and joy. I could certainly tell the close connections among the group members were truly special to everyone within the room that night. Each speech and performance demonstrated their passion towards God and the belief in their Pastor’s message. 

Thank you for having me. It was an honor to be able to witness the spirit of God through my camera lens, letting those memories live through images taken during the night.
