The Barron Family

Everytime I shoot for families at the Point Vicente Interpretive Center, I get different weather and vibes from the different families, which allows me to create a variety of family photos that tell a story of them individually. I was looking forward to shooting for the Barrons, as the mother had originally told me one of her sons is going to be deployed soon. It would have been an honor to meet a soldier and shoot for the family. Unfortunately world events happen, and the son was deployed a few days before our photo session. To include him in the photos, the family decided to bring along a framed photo of him. It was bittersweet for us all, but we look forward to capturing the full family when he returns.

For the session, I brought the family out to this Willow tree just right by the interpretive center. The glow of the sunset beamed through the leaves, casting a golden tone on the dried grass, creating a warm composition along with the beautiful smiles from the family. 

On this particular day, the sky wasn’t as overcast as the other shoots I’ve taken before, and it had a rather cold tone with warm light coming through the lens.The outfits the family wore that day may also have contributed to the blues. Typically I would recommend a lighter color top when the hair color is on the darker side as the brighter top will allow the facial features to pop better. However, every family has their own unique style; for the Barrons their matching blues also introduced Fall, which they can use as their Holiday photos as well.

The wedding anniversary for the parents was coming up, and we took the opportunity to get them dancing a little, capturing those candid sweet memories for the couple.
